Poynter Reporters Boot Camp 1 (WRBC-13)
APPLICATIONS FOR THIS SEMINAR ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED.
The first few years of a reporter’s career can often be daunting and overwhelming. The Poynter Institute wants to help new reporters lay down a solid foundation for their careers by putting them through the Reporters Boot Camp.
Led by Pulitzer Prize winner Tom French and 2013 Pulitzer Prize finalist Kelley Benham, this two-day seminar will provide reporters with fundamental skills to succeed as journalists in the digital age. Among other things, they will learn how to find great story ideas, conduct effective interviews, develop sources, report with data and organize their research.
You can attend the Reporters Boot Camp two ways: Come to Poynter for a two-day workshop on June 24-25 for two days of in-person teaching and feedback, plus the opportunity to share your experiences with other participants.
Or you can join us online on June 24 for a daylong broadcast through Poynter NewsU. You can watch the broadcasts of the live sessions, ask questions and join text chats with other online participants. Click here to register for the broadcast session.
