Teachapalooza VII (June 2017)
Teachapalooza is the place to catch up, power up and re-ignite your passion for teaching. Join us June 2-4, 2017, at the Poynter campus in St. Petersburg, Fla., for three fast-paced days of relevant, cut-to-the-chase learning for journalism educators.
This year, our lineup includes David Fahrenthold, a political reporter for The Washington Post whom CNN called “a breakout star in the 2016 campaign reporting.
We will get you up-to-date on the technology and trends that shape journalism, show you the latest ways educators are using innovation in their classrooms and focus on data storytelling and new storytelling platforms. Even more, you’ll join a lasting community of journalism educators who share your passion for shaping the next generation of journalists.
At Teachapalooza you’ll learn:
- How newsrooms are using social media, and how you can teach with these tools
- Fact-checking and fake news detectors
- The latest on drones, virtual reality and 360-video
We will inspire your teaching with our Show and Share sessions taught by YOU, the participants who share the coolest new ideas you are trying out in your classrooms.
Who Will Benefit:
