Ways to Give
A new, planned giving program has been established in the name of Nelson Poynter, acknowledging those who have made plans for The Poynter Institute through trust, estate or other future gifts.
Your gift supports journalists and journalism.
Stand Up for Journalism Scholarships Pay it forward! If Poynter has touched you, or if you simply want to help journalists get the training they need, you can make a contribution of $50, $100, $250, $500 or more toward the tuition of a journalist who participates in a Poynter seminar. Our goal is to make Poynter training more accessible to journalists across all media platforms. Nominate someone for a scholarship by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. Stand Up with Poynter and Stand Up for Journalism!
Friends of Poynter Poynter relies on the generosity of alumni, friends, corporations and foundations that endorse the institute’s mission of teaching and inspiring journalists, media leaders and educators. Giving is a powerful demonstration of your commitment to preserving journalism as the foundation of democracy.
The President’s Circle The Poynter Institute invites you to become a member of The President’s Circle, the premiere leadership giving society at Poynter. Thoughtful leaders who care about the important role of journalism in our democracy are vital to our future. Annual leadership gifts make it possible to provide opportunities for journalism students, attract and retain distinguished faculty and develop the innovative academic programming that is a hallmark of The Poynter Institute.
Sponsor a Community Conversation Your sponsorship allows you and members of the community to spend an evening with world-class speakers and thought-provoking topics. Poynter’s popular Community Conversations benefit the institute’s student journalists. Held at least four times a year, the public events are designed to provide citizens with an opportunity to engage with featured journalists. Contact email@example.com.
The Nelson Poynter Circle New! The Nelson Poynter Circle acknowledges those who have made plans for The Poynter Institute through trust, estate or other future gifts. Named for Mr. Poynter, who founded the institute through his own estate plans, the circle recognizes the vital role benefactors play in the institute’s emergence as the global center for journalism education. Legacy gifts will help us to ensure the future of the institute. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
