Steve Doig
STEPHEN K. DOIG holds the Knight Chair in Journalism, specializing in computer-assisted reporting, at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communication of Arizona State University. Before joining ASU in 1996, he was Associate Editor/Research of The Miami Herald. Various projects on which he worked at The Herald have won the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service, the Investigative Reporters & Editors Award, the Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, the George Polk Award, and other awards. He works actively with print and broadcast news organizations on complex data analysis stories. During his 20-year career at The Herald, he also served as state capital bureau chief, science editor, aviation writer, pollster and lottery columnist. He is a political science graduate of Dartmouth College and a graduate of the Defense Information School, which trained him to be a combat correspondent for the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
