Nafi Schwanzer is the Advancement Coorodinator at the Institute and her role include building and sustaining donor relationships through personal contacts, gift acknowledgements, communications, community conversations, and other special events. Prior to joining the Advancement Office, Nafi was a Program Coordinator working with faculty in running the seminars. She joined Poynter in 2007 and brings to the Institute a diverse business background. Nafi worked at Danka Office Imaging for seven years in the area of Finance and Accounting where her responsibilities were to support the Sales Department with their compensation needs. She previously worked for one of the largest Property Management firms in the nation as a Leasing Consultant coordinating residential and marketing events for the properties. Her roots are from a small country in the west coast of Africa called Gambia, which in the U.S. is known as the origin of the book “Roots.” It was there where she was raised, but came to the U.S. in pursuit of higher education and later moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1997 with her family. She graduated from the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
