Mizell Stewart III
Mizell Stewart III is a lifelong journalist and community servant with a passion for transforming organizations and lives for the better. Today, he is a news executive with Gannett and the USA TODAY NETWORK. He is the former managing director and chief content officer of Journal Media Group, formed in 2015 via the merger of the newspaper assets of Journal Communications and the E.W. Scripps Company. JMG was acquired by Gannett in April 2016. Previously, he was vice president/content for the Newspaper Division of the E.W. Scripps Company, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Earlier in his career, he led newsrooms in Akron, Ohio, Evansville, Indiana, and Tallahassee, Florida. He is also a member of the adjunct faculty of The Poynter Institute for Media Studies, developing and delivering leadership programs for mid-career professionals.
