Bobbi Alsina has worked at The Poynter Institute since 1987, and the St. Petersburg Times and Evening Independent newspapers, 1983-1987 and 2002-2003. She is the assistant to the president at Poynter. She was assistant to three deans at Poynter and a program assistant for leadership, broadcast, writing and ethics. She was assistant to the executive vice president at the Times and secretary to the editor at the Independent. Previously, she worked at Freedom Savings and Loan as operations supervisor, Fairwinds Travel as an agent, and at Allstate Insurance and Allstate Finance. Bobbi received her bachelor degree in psychology at the University of South Florida and associate degree at St. Petersburg College. She is married to Raúl, an artist, and they have two grown daughters.
