An Evening With Campbell Brown

Thursday, March 23, 2017 - 5:30pm-9:30pm

Campbell Brown, Facebook’s head of news partnerships and an award-winning anchor and correspondent for NBC News and CNN, will share her insights and reflect on the state of the media in this special event on Thursday, March 23. Her appearance is part of a program Poynter is hosting: the 2017 Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media.

Facebook, which has launched several initiatives to combat fake news (including a program with Poynter), hired Brown in January. In her role at Facebook, Brown said her goal is to “help news organizations and journalists work more closely and more effectively” with the social media platform. Before joining Facebook, Brown co-founded The 74, an education website funded by a number of school reformers.

This program is one of the planned community conversations as part of the institute’s annual speaker series.

Join us for the conversation for $25. All tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. (We’re sorry, but the dinner is now sold out.) To purchase, please use the shopping cart at right.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for this event. Please contact Elisa Jackson, executive director of the Poynter Foundation, at (727) 553-4676 to discuss options. Elisa can also be reached via email at ejackson@poynter.org.
